It’s been a while since I’ve done a grocery shopping haul and so today I thought I would just share our recent buys. Now that we’re experiencing chilly nights, I’ve been making lots of delicious, hearty comfort food. That includes chili, soups (our current favorite: chik’n and dumplings), or some sort of stew, enchiladas, etc. I’m constantly searching for new recipes to try and have been successful thanks to good ole Google and Pinterest! Do you want to know the greatest thing about making comfort foods? I use one kitchen appliance: crock pot. It has easily become my favorite gadget. Usually before work, or if I’m home for the day, I’ll just toss everything into a crock pot for a couple of hours and it’s good to go. It’s as simple as that! Not only is it simple, but it’s nice knowing you’re coming home to a wonderful smelling ready made dinner. 🙂
Now onto our goodies for the week…..
Some of our favorite faux-meat products. I made one of my non-veg friends a sandwich with the Tofurky peppered slices and she said it was really good. Now, she buys it and makes them for herself. 🙂
I can’t live without canned coconut milk and so far my favorite brand is Thai Kitchen. They tend to be a bit more pricey than other brands, but I usually buy them when they’re on sale. I find Thai Kitchen to have a better consistency and better outcome when it comes to using this brand of coconut milk. And have any of you tried any Amy’s products?! Her soups are really good! The split pea is good, but I think I like the lentil soup or the minestrone better.
That’s all our groceries for the week. We have products we purchase weekly, but our list of items is constantly changing based on what we make for dinner throughout the week. Do you have any go-to dishes you’d like to share? If so, comment below and let me know. I’d love to hear about them.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
